Mark your calendar for Sunday, March 10
from 2 to 5 PM for Calgary’s first Death Café!
Want to participate in Calgary’s
first Death Café event? Started in the United Kingdom, Death Café events are sweeping
through the United States and Canada as people meet in relaxed settings to
drink coffee, indulge in cake or cookies, and discuss that undeniable
fact-of-life, death.
The objective of Death Café is “To
increase awareness of death with a view toward helping people make the most of
their (finite) lives.” Calgary`s first meeting will kick off with a viewing
of the animation “Mr. Reaper’s Really Bad Morning” by Calgarian
filmmakers Kevin Kurytnik and Carol Beecher.
The conversation that follows will be spontaneous
and free-flowing, facilitated by Wendy Kurchak (me!) who has over ten years experience in the field.
Calgary’s first Death Café will take
place Sunday, March 10, from 2 to 5 PM at a northwest bookstore. To participate
in this free event, and details about the location, please email Wendy at wendymariek@gmail.com with your name
and a phone number by Wednesday, March 6.

By the way....a gentle reminder; talking
about death won’t make you dead.
